Bregenz Die Lake District Hotels (www.lakedistricthotels.net) sind schon seit mehr als 10 Jahren ein Partnerbetrieb der HLW Marienberg. Maria Boyd ist dort Personalchefin. Die Hotelgruppe umfasst insgesamt sieben Hotels im Lake District im Norden Englands.

Why do you offer internship positions to Austrian students?

Boyd We find that this is a really mutually beneficial arrangement. The students receive training and real work experience working in our hotels during our busiest time of the year and we get employees for 3 months during our busy summer that are interested in careers within hospitality.

What do you appreciate about trainees from Marienberg School? What has been your experience with the students?

Boyd We appreciate the students from Marienberg School are motivated and keen to develop their skills within hospitality. Our experience of the students is that they are mature, respectful, hardworking, flexible and work well within our established teams. The students that I have met have been keen to learn all that is needed to be successful within our industry and we are looking forward to meeting this year’s students.

Could you imagine hiring Marienberg graduates as full-time employees?

Boyd We would love to hire graduates from Marienberg School and we welcome any applications from students in the future.
